| At Refugio 2 |
S and the frantic little Asian lady manager of the Sundown got into it a bit as we sought the free breakfast that S had seen mentioned in a google search for the place the night before, but no matter there wasn’t one, free or not. It was otherwise a sunny morning and passing Orcutt and Los Alamos I felt a twinge of nostalgia. We breakfasted on French toast and honey and jam at a playground in Shell Beach which I think is a district of greater Pismo. Regardless we tried some of the fancy playground equipment and headed for Gaviota and the sister beach parks of Refugio and El Capitan. We settled in at Refugio by 2 threw out the rug and the awning and the furniture, sat for a spell drinking tea and walked down the beach to the point and the group of sort of novice surfers. Later S made a thermos of toddies and we took the chairs, dog, blankets, etc. back to the beach for the sunset which took place right behind the most distant oil derrick. Reprised the enhanced ramen concoction of a couple nights ago, the one with the huge wad of spinach, and oil of olive and sesame with now the remains of the carnitas from San Miguel. The night is chill and Venus is hot in the southwest.
